Employed by Crafton Borough as a part time police dispatcher in August 1989, I became a full time police dispatcher January 15, 1990.
At that time, the dispatcher was responsible for ambulance, fire, and police dispatching for Crafton and the surrounding communities. It also included NCIC scope work for those communities as well as, but not limited to, assisting the public 24 hours a day.
The job required 40 hours training initially, and yearly training and testing to maintain the ability to continue to use and perform NCIC scope duties.
When the dispatch center closed in April of 1999, I became Police Secretary. I enjoy doing my job, helping the people I work with, and helping the people I come in contact with by phone or in person. |
