- Law enforcement career started with the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy Sheriff.
- March 1972- Became a Patrolman with the Crafton Borough Police Department.
- May 1978- Promoted to Sergeant.
- May 1986- Promoted to Chief of Police
- January to April 1989- Attended the 156th session of the F.B.I. National Academy in Quantico, VA.
- 1986 to Present- Active with the Allegheny County Chief's of Police Association. President in 1995.
- Western Pennsylvania Chief's of Police Association numerous terms on the Executive Board.
- Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association-active member.
- F.B.I.N.A.A. "National Academy Associates" active member and has served on the Board of Governors.

| In his time off he enjoys motorcycling, spending time in his summer place, refinishing antique furniture, and motor homing with his wife of 34 years, Marilyn, and his dogs. |
